Best AI Agents for Instagram DMs in Ecommerce (2026)

Seven tools can reply to Instagram DMs for an ecommerce brand, but they do different jobs. Some turn comments into links, and others read your product catalog and sell. This page compares them so you can pick by job.

Disclosure: Moshi wrote this comparison and lists itself first. We built Moshi to turn Meta ad clicks into Instagram DM sales. We say below where another tool fits better.

How we compared

We used four questions. We read each vendor’s own site and docs and listed what they state. We did not test the products ourselves.

  • Does it reply from keywords and flows you build, or does an AI read the shopper’s message?
  • Does it know your products, through Shopify or a catalog?
  • Can it move a shopper to checkout and follow up?
  • Who is it built for: creators, service businesses, or ecommerce brands?

We left out prices because they change. A feature we did not see on a vendor page may still exist, so confirm before you buy.

The seven tools at a glance

  • Moshi: sells Shopify products to shoppers who click a Meta ad.
  • ManyChat: flow builder for comment and DM automation, with an AI add-on.
  • Chatfuel: AI agent aimed at service businesses and small shops.
  • Inrō: Instagram-only AI agent and campaigns for creators and brands.
  • TailorTalk: AI sales agent for fashion brands on Instagram and WhatsApp.
  • InstantDM: comment-to-DM automation with an AI agent.
  • CreatorFlow: comment-to-link and email capture for creators.

1. Moshi

Moshi is an AI sales agent for ecommerce brands. It changes a Meta ad’s call to action from “Link Click” to “Send Message.” The click then opens an Instagram DM instead of a landing page. The agent asks what the shopper wants, reads live products from the brand’s Shopify catalog, handles objections, and sends the shopper to checkout. It replies in under 8 seconds.

Moshi also follows up on abandoned carts in the inbox. It can continue the chat in iMessage and RCS, which Meta’s 24-hour reply window does not cover. It tags revenue from ad click to DM to purchase.

Best for: DTC brands that run Meta ads and sell on Shopify. Less suited to: creators who only want comment-to-link giveaways. Moshi offers a 14-day trial with a card. Talk to the team at moshi.ai/talk.

2. ManyChat

ManyChat is a no-code chat marketing platform with a flow builder for Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp, and other channels. It captures emails and phone numbers from DMs, and the vendor describes itself as a Meta official business partner. Its AI add-on writes replies, and the vendor says they show a preview first.

ManyChat’s own blog shows an abandoned-cart flow built from a checkout button, a delay, tags, and a condition. The blog says the flow needs an ecommerce integration, and a ManyChat community thread says Shopify connects through Zapier, Make, or an external request.

Best for: brands and creators that want exact control over a rule-based comment-to-DM funnel, with AI at the edges. You build and maintain each branch yourself.

3. Chatfuel

Chatfuel is an AI agent platform for WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and website chat. Its Instagram automation covers DMs, post and reel comments, story replies, and ad comments. On its ecommerce page, the vendor says the AI can recommend items from a product catalog, send a payment link, follow up on quiet chats, and hand off to a person with the chat history.

Chatfuel’s docs lean toward service businesses, with bookings and leads. Its Shopify page covers WhatsApp cart recovery and notifications. We did not see a live Shopify catalog sync for Instagram.

Best for: service businesses and small shops that want an AI that qualifies leads and takes payment in chat, and agencies that manage several clients.

4. Inrō

Inrō is an Instagram DM tool with an AI agent, DM campaigns, and an inbox with tags and segments. The vendor shows a Meta Tech Provider badge. Its AI agent answers, qualifies, and follows up in your tone, and it is trained on your FAQs and product details.

The pages we read show no native Shopify integration or cart recovery. Integration runs through Make and webhooks.

Best for: creators and brands that sell through Instagram, including bookings and high-ticket offers, and want DM campaigns to past buyers.

5. TailorTalk

TailorTalk is an AI sales agent for fashion and social-commerce brands on WhatsApp, Instagram DMs, and a website widget. On Shopify, the vendor says the agent answers size and stock questions from the live catalog, matches a photo a shopper sends to catalog items, and sends a payment link in chat. It supports Click-to-Instagram ads, comment-to-DM, and story replies, and it escalates to humans.

TailorTalk states a limit: order updates and cart recovery run on WhatsApp only, because Instagram is reply-based.

Best for: fashion and apparel brands that sell on both Instagram and WhatsApp. The payment options it lists, such as Razorpay, suggest it fits brands in India. That is our inference.

6. InstantDM

InstantDM started as comment-to-DM automation and now offers an AI agent. The vendor lists comment triggers, story reply and mention automation, DM sequences, Click-to-Message ad automation, and tags with email and phone capture. The agent reads customer photos, transcribes voice notes, replies in the customer’s language, and follows up.

The vendor page shows no Shopify integration, product catalog, or cart recovery.

Best for: creators, agencies that run many accounts, and brands that want comment-to-link flows with an AI agent on top.

7. CreatorFlow

CreatorFlow turns reel comments, post comments, story replies, and keyword DMs into links and captured emails. It can require a follow before it sends the link, and it can message people who already commented on recent posts. A workspace plan gives agencies separate workspaces per client, with click and lead analytics.

It is keyword-triggered, and the vendor page shows no AI conversation, Shopify integration, or cart recovery.

Best for: creators, coaches, and agencies that want comment-to-link flows with email capture.

How to choose

  • You run Meta click-to-message ads for a Shopify store: start with Moshi or TailorTalk, and add Chatfuel if you also sell services.
  • You want a giveaway or link-in-comment flow: ManyChat, InstantDM, or CreatorFlow.
  • You want full control of every branch: ManyChat.
  • You sell high-ticket offers or bookings through Instagram: Inrō or Chatfuel.
  • You sell on WhatsApp as well as Instagram: TailorTalk or Chatfuel.

Questions buyers ask

What is the best AI agent for Instagram DMs?

It depends on the job. For selling Shopify products to shoppers who click a Meta ad, Moshi is built for that flow. For comment-to-link giveaways, ManyChat, InstantDM, and CreatorFlow fit better. For fashion brands that also sell on WhatsApp, look at TailorTalk.

Can an AI agent reply to Instagram DMs automatically?

Yes. Tools that use the official Instagram messaging API can reply to DMs on their own. Meta limits when a business may message: the standard window is 24 hours after the shopper last wrote.

Is a chatbot builder or an AI agent better for ecommerce?

A builder such as ManyChat gives you exact control over each step, but you build every branch. An AI agent reads the shopper’s message and the product catalog and chooses the reply, so it needs less setup and gives less predictable output.

Do these tools work with Shopify?

Moshi and TailorTalk read the live Shopify catalog. ManyChat’s community says Shopify connects through Zapier, Make, or an external request. Chatfuel’s Shopify integration covers WhatsApp cart recovery and notifications. The other tools in this list show no native Shopify integration on the pages we read.
